About Dr. Marni
I am an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of San Diego in San Diego, California. I'm also the founder and director of Lemur Love, a California Registered non-profit organization working in Madagascar.
My research interest is in the evolution of female dominance in lemurs. I also examine the legal and illegal trades of wild-captured lemurs in Madagascar.
Social justice and activism are important to me. I am particularly focused on and decolonizing practices, LGBTQ+ equality, Black Lives Matter, and migration justice.
I have the best dog (though reactive and not friendly!) and a cat that dislikes me (her prerogative).
